Day nine of the 30 Day Yoga Journey: I fell but the floor caught me

After cleaning and organizing the apartment, I checked my phone and saw that today's yoga practice is titled BALANCE, I told myself (breathe, you got this, you won't give up now).

Balance isn't my strongest trait, so I was a bit worried/hesitant to start the yoga class.

I have had a fear of falling down since I was a kid, I hated it when I fell down, it terrified me, one of the many reasons why I didn't participate in many physical activities while growing up.

I promised myself that I would face my fears (no matter how ridiculous my fears seem to be, but I need to overcome them to find myself).

So you guessed it, I turned on my computer and pressed play… here we go!!!

Today's yoga practice started with alternating nostril breathing, I enjoyed it, it has a very relaxing effect.

Gradually, the poses became more physically and mentally demanding, I did the one-legged mountain pose, but with a little shake of course, but I welcomed the shake, the energy, it's what Adriene taught me…

I learned today that yoga is about marrying strength with softness, Adriene explains it in the video, check it out if you want to know more, she helps me understand more about yoga and it's so beautiful.

When did I fall?? During the pyramid pose (as shown below), I lost my balance, I was rushing somehow and I lost my focus. (continue scrolling after the picture)

Please support my blog by sharing it on your social media and with your friends.

Pyramid pose

Adriene wrote in the email (If you fall, I will catch you. You got this.) this is the sweetest thing ever!

I came back up and continued the pose, returned to the class swiftly, I welcomed the fall with gratitude, it means I'm trying, it means I'm learning, it means I'm not giving up, it means I'm stronger than yesterday.

This is the beauty of yoga, it opens you spiritually, I conquered fear, I overcame an obstacle, I knew more about myself, this is amazing.

Yoga really puts you in the role of listener, the observer, you meet yourself through yoga, you're introduced to yourself through yoga!

Anyway, my back is thankful for the twisted lunge and my hips are thankful for the reclined one-legged pigeon, PERFECTION!

Thank you for taking the time to read my posts, thank you for being here with me (virtually) remember that you're awesome :) enjoy the rest of your day <3
