Day 11 of a 30 day yoga journey: How yoga helped me in a random situation

Before I start telling you about today's yoga practice, please allow me to tell you about yesterday! I had so many things to do, I took my mom's car instead of mine, and it's a new car, I don't really like driving nor understand a lot about vehicles.

Everything was going great until I noticed a warning message that the oil needed to be changed immediately. This wouldn't normally cause panic to someone who understands cars, but because I'm unaware of the world of vehicles, I started to freak out while driving.

I managed to calm myself down through breathing and organized thoughts until I reached my destination, I parked and opened the hood, and sent a message to one of my brothers.

So I was just standing there not having a clue about anything but not freaking out. Two kind strangers came to me and offered help, they were so nice and told me that everything was okay and that I just needed to take my mom's car to the maintenance service.

Meanwhile, my brother also replied and told me the same thing.

I'm totally thankful for this experience for many reasons:

1-I learned something about cars.

2-I received kindness from strangers, and it's a great feeling.

3-I managed to calm me down instead of freaking out (that's how yoga helped and how I took my yoga's lessons off the mat)

I started yoga a couple of years ago and I took a hiatus last year because my life was chaotic, but for the past couple of months I was on and off again with it until Adriene announced BREATH - A 30 Day Yoga Journey, that's when I decided to recommit to the daily practice of yoga and thought this is the perfect chance to do it.

Here I am, DAY ELEVEN (Flow), an amazing practice, it gave me the necessary energy to continue my extra busy day.

The poses were demanding but I managed them with active breathing.

I'm getting more confident with the downward-facing dog, I even did the three-legged dog, I was so scared of doing this pose.

Today's practice has the first one-legged pigeon pose in this journey and I absolutely loved it, I think it will get me closer to doing the splits :)

I'm feeling a lot of good energy and I'm having more control over how I feel, I'm not rushing myself, I'm not pressuring myself, and I'm trusting my journey.

This awesome yoga session helped me feel unstuck, both mentally and physically, so if you want some motivation to get on the mat, consider this post as a sign :)

Remember to take time for yourself, accept what the universe brings you, observe and breathe.
