Simple social media management guide for small business owners

If you're a small business owner and can't afford a social media manager, in this post I will present to you a basic guide on social media management that could help improve your online presence and increase your profits:

-Make a digital marketing plan. It's similar to any other plan... Focus on what you want to achieve and how. Put a time frame for your goals and ways to measure your progress. Be reasonable and flexible about change.

-Have a bio that clearly states what you have to offer to your clients. Your business account bio should be about what the customers want to see or have. an example of a good bio: we offer you organic oils for hair and you'll see improvement in a matter of weeks.

-Know your competitors. If you sell handmade purses or make birthday cakes. Be aware of other business owners who do the same. Think about what you can offer that could make you different. an example: less delivery fees or presenting your top customers with another free product for their best friend, daughter, or sister.

-Create a good relationship with your customers online. Don't be a robot. Respond to every comment. Post greetings for different holidays. Find a balance so they can connect with you.

-Ask them for reviews and post them. This will make you look credible and reliable.

-Have your business listed on google. It helps customers to find you.

-Have a logo. You can use apps to design it. Remember simplicity attracts more than you think.

-Distinct business name is essential.

-Create a website/blog. You can find free/affordable website hosting to list your products, and services and add your contact information and address if you have a shop.

-Know the most suitable social media platform to focus on and use the most. Don't distract yourself with too many accounts. Understand your customers and figure out the best method to connect with them.

-Improve your photography skills to take pictures of your products or service, for example, if you have a dog grooming place, try taking pictures of our customers before and after the grooming session.

-Recognize the demographic characteristics of your customers and create ads to attract them.

-Acknowledge the importance of word of mouth, so create an easy shopping experience for your clients.

-Create an email list.

-Make sure your posts are short so your clients won't get bored.

-Post interactive posts (ask them questions: what they would suggest, their opinions, etc)

-Post informative posts. For example: if you offer cat boarding services, post information about cats and their nutrition and integrate these facts with what you offer.

-Choose a color/filter for all your posts.

-Plan your posts for the week ahead and post daily.

-Don't buy followers, this will lower your impressions and interactions severely. You want people to interact with and buy your products, not numbers.

-Understand keywords for SEO.

-Hashtags are key for your social media presence.

-Profile photo should be either your face with a background that is your business color or just your logo.

-Be patient. Learn and don't give up!
