Social anxiety and the perfect yoga session to help with it

In this post I'm going to discuss social anxiety, it's something that I have dealt with since I was a kid. I think that blogging about social anxiety will maybe help other people who suffer from this issue to feel not alone, to recognize what they face, and to try to find ways to minimize it.

What I feel because of social anxiety:

-Excessive fear of being judged.

-Fast talking especially around strangers.

-Keeping away from most social gatherings for feeling that I'm unlikeable.

-Not being able to initiate conversations for not wanting to annoy anyone.

-Rethinking everything that I say.

-Avoiding eye contact as much as possible.

-Feeling awkward and embarrassed in public

-Not speaking up during meetings/classes for being terrified of being not heard or being laughed at.

-Being embarrassed to eat or drink in front of people.

-Being a people pleaser.

Sometimes social anxiety can lead to physical symptoms, such as stomach pain, headache, fast heart rate, fatigue, dizziness and shaky voice.

How I deal with social anxiety:

-Loving myself and knowing my worth in order not to be overwhelmed with how people feel or think about me.

-Realizing that my words, my thoughts, and my feelings matter.

-Repeating affirmation that I'm loved and I'm safe.

-Self-care routine.

-Deep breathing.

-Doing daily yoga.

-Listening to frequency music.

It's a slow process but when I work on my self-confidence and when I cherish who I am more, I notice that my social anxiety becomes more manageable.

Yoga helps me a lot to face any irrational fears, and today's yoga session is about this post's topic and it's titled Yoga For Social Anxiety.

This yoga session with Adriene starts standing up, it works on increasing the blood flow and getting fresh oxygen, then there's a core workout *it's simple don't be scared*, and it ends with happy baby pose.

I'm going to do this yoga session whenever I feel that anxiety is winning, it's only 20 minutes long and very effective to welcome new positive energy, to feel supported and balanced.

Adriene says at the end of the video "we all have magic but also we all have vulnerability, anxiety… we're all in this together".

Please support my blog by sharing it on your social media and with your friends.
