People you should keep in your life

As we get older and somehow more experienced and a bit wiser, people start dropping out of our lives and our circle of trusted friends gets smaller.

Sometimes the universe takes people out of your life in order to make you stronger or to make room for something/someone better for you. I react to this situation differently, I either don't care or care way too much.

I'm trying to change the fact that I'm a people pleaser. This issue costs me a lot of things. For example at work, I used to accept all tasks assigned to me because I couldn't refuse.

I stayed in a job that I hated for almost five years because I couldn't get myself to quit so people won't hate me but now when I'm loving myself a little more, I don't care what anyone thinks about me as long as I'm doing nothing wrong!

I used to not be able to end a friendship no matter how toxic it might get, or how much they hurt or mistreat, or pressured me.

Recently I'm only allowing people who cherish me to be in my life. I'm no longer putting myself last or ignoring red flags.

Types of people you should keep in your life:

-People who value your presence, cherish your existence in their life, treat you the way that you want to be treated, remember details about things that you love, and accept your opinions.

-Those who are honest with you, allow you to talk and express yourself without fear of being misjudged but also understand your silence.

-People who want the best for you, celebrate your victories, encourage you to pursue your goals, never feel jealous of your success, and encourage your growth.

-People who truly care about your wellness, who see the beauty in you, never hide their thoughts, and get your sense of humor as much as possible.

Remember you deserve the best and to be treated as awesome as you are. Don't allow anything less than that. Be humble but value who you are. When you receive energy that it's a lot less than the energy that you give, it's time to reconsider things. It's not about how many friends you have but how close they are to you and how much they nurture you.
