Find the power to forgive with this yoga session

Forgiveness is when a person makes a decision to let go of negative feelings towards whoever has caused them harm. It can help you to heal from traumas and move on from situations that hurt you in the past. You can forgive others but you should also forgive yourself for anything that you might blame yourself for.

I'm writing this post after doing an amazing yoga session titled "Yoga For Forgiveness | Yoga With Adriene" and it's a topic that I wanted to discuss for a while.

I got the notification that Adriene uploaded a new yoga video when I woke up and it immediately became at the top of my to-do list today.

In my opinion, the most important type of forgiveness is forgiving ourselves. Sometimes we blame ourselves for many things and this brings us down and doesn't help in anything.

Forgiving myself was a difficult process in my self-love journey. I needed to forgive myself for allowing some people to mistreat me, for staying too long in a toxic situation, for over-trusting wrong people, and for many other things that I blamed myself for constantly.

Power of forgiveness

When you forgive yourself for "mistakes" that you think that you have done, you move forward and you grow mentally and spiritually, plus you gain more control over your life.

Forgiving others shouldn't mean you forget they hurt you or what they did, it doesn't mean you give them another chance, or allow them back to your life, it doesn't mean you trust them again in any way.

You can forgive others but still limit interaction or cut them completely off, forgiveness means that you stop feeling pain or anger or frustration, to move on, and learn from whatever the situation was meant to teach you.

You can heal through forgiveness, it's how you don't let anger or sadness or any negative emotions control you. But never relive a toxic situation or trust someone who hurt you.

Adriene wrote to describe this session "our mindful yoga practices can provide us with the powerful tools to learn how to safely work in discomfort, gain control, find empowerment, healing, and growth."

If you need to cultivate new energy that can give you enough power to forgive and heal, then I recommend this yoga practice.
