Social media platforms are filled with makeup gurus and the possibility of their content popping on your feed is high.
Recently a super famous makeup influencer posted on TiktTok a review about a foundation by using a method that wasn't exactly suitable for it.
This influencer has millions of followers for having an interesting way of applying makeup that got her the attention of the internet.
Are makeup reviews always correct?
I'm not the biggest fan of full coverage foundations, other types of foundations make me more comfortable, and despite my limited information about makeup I'm sure that every type of foundation has a special method to apply it.
The product that she reviewed is by Bobbi Brown and it's not a full coverage foundation, but the influencer used her usual/unsuitable method to review it, which wasn't right.
She uses an extra amount of foundation in her video and the reviewed product only needs to be applied with a tiny amount to work its magic.
Also, Bobbi Brown was clear that it's not a full coverage foundation and many people mentioned this fact to the mega influencer BUT this fact didn't stop her from posting another video criticizing the product again by expecting results that it wasn't made for.
Anyway, this "trend" caused Bobbi Brown to post videos to defend her product from the unfair review.
I respect and support that Bobbi Brown didn't ignore what happened and posted about it to clear any misunderstanding about her foundation.
Why we shouldn't always believe makeup influencers
This situation showed that some online reviews could be unfair and I think that we should start questioning the reviews (either good or bad).
We should always research the things that we want to purchase, read their description and understand their results, and not just watch a TikTok video to decide whether to buy them or not.
Please support my blog by sharing it on your social media and with your friends.
