Going through a healing journey is the most important gift that you can give to yourself. A healing journey allows you to appreciate yourself, build self-confidence, create harmony in your life, and have a better mindset. Being able to set boundaries is one of the best outcomes of a successful healing journey.
Making a decision to start a healing journey is basically reintroducing yourself to the world and letting go of all your fears that are keeping you away from being your true self and stopping you from forming an authentic connection with the world.
Healing is a decision taken by strong people
I want to share an important part of my healing journey that hopefully will help my readers if they're going through the same situation.
The healing journey isn't easy and you're a very strong person, stronger than you might think, you might face some obstacles but it means that you're getting to the point that you want to reach and getting closer to your goals.
You might experience ups and downs, but don't give up and trust the process, also trust yourself and believe in your abilities.
The most occurring feeling that happens during the healing journey and you absolutely shouldn't feel guilty about, is experiencing waves of sadness.
I found a beautiful quote by Jonatan Martensson “Feelings are much like waves, we can’t stop them from coming but we can choose which ones to surf.”
Healing isn't linear and you can't plan a time schedule to heal, allow the healing to happen without forcing it to happen.
Don't feel guilty about this feeling during your healing journey
I was having a lovely birthday a few days ago and suddenly I was "hit" by a wave of sadness, I allowed it but I didn't let it control me.
This doesn't mean that I failed in my healing journey, on the contrary, this means I shouldn't quit and it's a sign that I'm on the right path. I won't let this emotion ruin what I have accomplished so far.
So please have patience and know it's never too late to start healing and it's okay if you felt sad during this process.
Don't rush to the next stage in your healing journey, take time to evaluate your process and celebrate what you accomplished. Be proud of yourself.
