It's possible to become stressed and overwhelmed during the holidays due to past traumas or being uncomfortable with gatherings. This is why it's vital to follow a self-love checklist during the holidays to avoid any type of stress:
-Protect your energy
Meditate and ground yourself to protect yourself from any energy vampire that you might meet. Repeat to yourself "I'm safe" and breathe deeply. Cut any unwanted conversations short.
-Set boundaries
Boundaries are necessary for any form of communication, even with friends and families, make sure to have clear boundaries, if you don't want discussions about your career or your love life, be clear about it.
-Take breaks
Breaks can help you regulate your nervous system. Go for a short walk whenever you're anxious or pet a cat. Just disconnect to recharge yourself.
-Be kind
Give love and kindness and you'll have good karma. Make others feel better about themselves. Smile and make someone's day brighter. Spread your positive energy and remember that others might be struggling too.
-Expect less
Don't expect too much so you don't get disappointed. Don't expect apologies or to be treated in a certain way and don't expect expensive gifts.
-Don't pressure yourself
Remember that it's okay to avoid any gatherings if it's too much for you to handle.
Share this checklist with your friends and family... I hope it helps you to have stress-free holidays.
