Some days, I don't have enough energy to get the yoga mat to do my daily practice. I prefer doing standing yoga without a mat when I feel this way.
A yoga mat can be helpful as it provides a little bit of cushioning and helps to keep you from slipping but your carpet can be a good alternative for it.
