if you suffer from period pain, you're not alone and I'm going to share with you tips on managing cramps. Period cramps can be debilitating for many women (I speak from a personal experience). For some, the pain is so severe that it can interfere with work, school, and other daily activities.
Some things can be done to help manage the pain:
-Over-the-counter pain medications can be taken (moderately) to help relieve the pain. They can be effective in reducing inflammation and cramps to provide some relief.
-Heat can be applied to the stomach or lower back. This can be done with a heating pad, hot water bottle, or even a warm bath. The heat can help to relax the muscles and increase blood flow to this area.
-Stay hydrated and eat a balanced diet. This can help to reduce the severity of period cramps.
-Herbal tea can reduce period pain. Peppermint and also cinnamon tea work for me. But you can do your research and find what helps you feel good.
-Relaxation techniques such as deep breathing can also help manage period cramps. Taking some time to focus on relaxing the body can help to reduce the pain.
-Massage can also help to relieve period cramps. This can be done by oneself or with the help of a partner. Gently massaging the stomach in a clockwise direction can help to release the cramps.
-Yoga can be an effective way to help reduce period pain. By promoting relaxation and increasing blood flow to the pelvic region, yoga can help to ease cramping and pain.
That's why I chose today's yoga class (to ease my period pain and hopefully help my reader), it's titled 15 min Gentle YOGA FOR PERIOD | Yoga Stretch For Hips & Lower Back.
This yoga session helped in reducing my cramps and made me feel more relaxed.
Of course, every woman is different and what works for one may not work for another.
If you decide to do this yoga session, then listen to your body and go at your own pace.
Uliana says "This is a gentle yoga stretch targeting hips, pelvis, lower back - the areas that typically experience pain from cramping when you are on your period. Gentle moving and stretching can sometimes help relieve menstrual cramping and other symptoms."
Remember to be gentle with your body and only do what feels comfortable. Don't force any pose. Don't compare your stretch shape with anyone else.
