10 things that I love about myself

I'm following a yoga challenge with "Yoga with Kassandra" to improve flexibility in the body and mind. Today's challenge is based on the one-word intention: HEAL. The yoga teacher wants us to " write a MINIMUM of 10 things you love about yourself and then SHARE this list with someone you trust! This is where vulnerability comes in. If you can write more than 10 things, go for it."

It's a very powerful challenge and I don't know how to do it. For years I struggled with my self-worth and self-image. This type of exercise is difficult but can be an essential part of the healing journey. I find it a lot easier to find things that I like in other people than in myself.

Traumas and society made me believe that I shouldn't love myself and that's something I'm actively working to change.

I keep reminding myself it's not egotistic to find things that I love about in myself and in fact, it's important to love myself because if I don't then how am I supposed to love others?

So here we go… 10 things that I love about myself:

-I never hide how I feel. If I'm happy, I will show it. If I'm sad, I will show it.

-I'm always ready to learn. I also love to learn. It's something that I really value.

-I love to sing and dance. I sing to my cats and they like my voice. I improvise songs for them all the time.

-My smile. It might sound like a cliché but I love my smile and how it makes other people feel comfortable around me and helps them smile back.

-I always get back up and try again. No matter how many times I fall. I don't give up easily.

-I trust people. I see the good in people and I never lose trust in them.

-I treat people as I want to be treated. I do my best not to hurt anyone. It's basic human decency but I love that I didn't let anything changes my softness.

-I encourage people to be open about their passions and never feel ashamed about them.

-I speak my truth. I don't pretend to be someone that I'm not.

-Small things excite me like birds singing or the sound trees make when it's windy.

I hope this post will motivate you to write a list of things that you love about yourself.
