Grounding for twenty minutes: How was it?

I have embarked on a yoga challenge to enhance both my physical and mental flexibility, Today's challenge is called "Ground" and the yoga teacher tells us to go outside in nature for twenty minutes without any distractions.

And yes the distractions in this challenge include books, podcasts, calls, texts and music. "Ground" gives us the chance to focus on our senses and embrace our surroundings.

It's a very powerful way to reset and restore our energy.

I'm lucky enough to live near parks and nature. But when I walk/go outside, I usually listen to music, text friends or even use social media.

This challenge was beautiful, it made me feel connected to nature.

When I walk with music in my ears or when I'm focused on my phone when I sit in the park, I miss noticing beautiful things.

Am I really in nature when I'm that distracted?

The weather was sunny and perfect. I loved every moment.

Nature is very fascinating and being free of distractions helped me enjoy things that I have never noticed before.

In my next outings, I will be more "grounded".

Some people recommend being barefoot when practicing grounding but I couldn't do it, it feels strange to me. My senses were stimulated and engaged as much as I could (I even took off my sunglasses for a couple of minutes to enjoy the sunlight).
