Tips for learning a new skill or language effectively

Learning new skills/languages is one of the most important things you can do for self-development and to get ahead in life and career. It can be difficult to learn a new skill or language, especially if you have a busy schedule or feeling unmotivated. Currently, I'm learning coding, designing and French. So this post aims to help my readers and me.

Here are a few tips to help you learn a new skill or language effectively:

-Start with the basics. Make sure you understand the basic elements of what you're studying/learning before moving on to more advanced levels. I used to try to get into more advanced levels quickly, it wasn't helpful at all and discouraged me.

-Make sure you understand each lesson before moving to the next. The beauty of studying online is that you can repeat the lessons as much as you need. Don't feel pressured. You might find difficulty with some lessons and other ones will go smoothly.

-Find a method that works for you. Some people learn best by listening to audios, others by reading, and others through interactive activities. Find a suitable method and stick with it. I prefer videos. You can also find multiple methods depending on your mood or energy.

-Write notes. Whatever the methods that you'll choose to learn, writing notes can help you a lot in learning.

-Google what you don't understand or what you want more information about. Google and search engines can help you if you don't get certain information from the class that you're attending, or if the teacher didn't provide enough/clear answers.

-Practice as much as you can. The only way to get better at something is to practice it as often as possible. I'm practicing French with my friend from France and that helps me more than any lesson I follow.

- Set realistic goals. Don't try to learn everything at once. Set small goals that you can achieve so you don't get frustrated. Accomplishing these goals will help you feel good about yourself and give you the needed boost to continue with the learning journey.

-Get a tutor. If you're having trouble understanding a concept or keeping up with the material. Or consult a friend who's an expert in that topic.

-Find a study buddy. Or find someone to motivate you to study. Sometimes we need extra motivation and it's okay to have someone to rely on for that.

Learning a new skill or language can be difficult, but with these tips, you can make it easier. Just take your time, be patient, and find a method that works for you.
