It is time for more COMPASSION

I have embarked on a yoga challenge to enhance both my physical and mental flexibility. Today's challenge is based on the one-word intention: COMPASSION.

Kassandra explains "In order to practice compassion for ourselves or others, let's refrain from gossiping or passing judgment today! You may think you never gossip or judge, but if you observe your thoughts closely you might be surprised by your internal dialogue. If other people try to get you to gossip, remove yourself from the conversation or change the subject. It's impossible not to make judgments as this is a survival instinct, but try and be mindful of your judgments and see if you can re-frame them."

I needed this challenge and let me explain why.

My judgments are mostly inward, meaning: I judge myself in an unhealthy way. I lack compassion toward myself and that's something that I'm actively working on fixing. This type of exercise will allow me to observe my thoughts and notice the negative patterns that might occur.

With this challenge I can ask myself: is this idea compassionate? Is it helpful?

It will also encourage me to withdraw myself from any situation/conversation that might cause me to judge others.

This is one of my favorite challenges this far.

Gossip, judgment and lack of compassion will not serve us well in any way.

Also it's a reminder that compassion includes how we treat others and ourselves.

Feel free to email me, you'll find a contact widget on the blog to get in touch with me, I would love to hear from you.
