I just got back home after spending 12 days in Europe and I'm going to share details from my trip with you in this post. This was my longest trip so far and the first in a few years, I'm so glad I'm back to traveling again, as I love it so much. I visited Poland and France (this is the third time I have been in France and the first time in Poland).
I went to France for the first time in 2018 and returned for one day visit in a small border town in 2019 the 2023 visit.
My plan is to visit the countries my father visited, he traveled a lot and he was really passionate about traveling and my goal is to do the same.
This trip was basically a birthday present for myself as I spent my birthday at the airport (June 10th) and I went back home on June 22.
I didn't have a lot of time to plan this trip because of my visa but next time I will do things better.
Poland:
I traveled from Cairo To Katowice (with a connection flight to Frankfort airport) both trips were delayed and that was stressful, also Frankfort airport is so difficult to navigate but after 10 hours in the airport, I arrived in Poland!
I wanted to see so many places in Poland but I only had a few days there. I loved the country, it's so rich and has a lot of history but the only problem that I had with it was the language barrier, it's so difficult to read the signs and to navigate there.
The first place that I visited was Wawel Royal Castle in Kraków it was so majestic, I loved it and I loved the town a lot.
Then I went to the market square (I still struggle with the names) but I had a lot of good time this day.
The next days I visited Pieskowa Skala Castle, Pszczyna Castle, and Zamek Ogrodzieniec.
I really love Castles, and I loved every moment of visiting them (I'm sorry if I messed up with the names).
I also visited Jasna Gora Monastery in Czestochowa, and it's without a doubt the best place that I visited.
I enjoyed my time in Poland, it's an amazing country but my advice if you plan to visit it is that you get a bit of knowledge of the language as it will help you a lot.
France:
I arrived in France on June 15th and I also had a connecting flight to Frankfort airport but luckily both flights were on time and everything went well.
I will discuss transportation and accommodation in later posts (for both countries).
The first day was so tough for me because I had a long time at the airport and I was up at 3 am to catch my flights so I spent the first day getting to know to surroundings of the hotel (as it wasn't in Paris itself) then I slept for like 12 hours.
With the Poland trip and the long four flights, I was beyond exhausted but after this rest, I was ready for what comes next.
The next day I visited Hôtel de Ville and I had a walking tour of all the surroundings including Pont Neuf, Place du Châtelet, Pont au Change, Horloge du Palais de la Cité and Île de la Cité.
As you can tell it was a really productive day and I walked a lot.
On June 17th, I visited Arc de Triomphe, Tuileries Gardens, Petit Palais, Champ de Mars, and Eiffel Tour. Also that day I enjoyed French pastries (so delicious).
On Sunday I met my friend and we had a lovely time in Rainforest Cafe at Disney, and she gave me Ewan Mitchell's autograph (My happiness is beyond explanation because I finally got it).
On June 19th, I went inside the Louvre Museum and Palais Garnier, which was something I wasn't able to do on my first visit and I'm so happy that was lucky enough to visit them this time.
The next day I went to the magical Palace of Versailles, it was a long trip but it was worth it, it's an incredible place, I have no words to describe it.
On The 21st, my friend was generous enough to drive me to Fondation Claude Monet in Giverny, I love Monet's work and I wanted to visit this place and we had a great time there.
I went back home on June 22, it was pouring rain in Paris and my flight was delayed (I had a connecting flight in Zurich) but I got back home safely and I'm happy to share this post with you.
After six flights and visiting a few cities in Europe, I'm beyond happy and I can't wait to share my next travel with you.
Thank you for visiting my blog and for being a part of my life. Feel free to email me, you'll find a widget on my blog for that. Stay tuned for more posts about my travel.
