Today, I would like to discuss Twitter's recent decision to limit the number of tweets that unverified accounts can read.
Twitter is a popular social media platform that hundreds of millions use to follow the news, interact with their favorite celebrities, and find relatable content.
This decision can harm people who rely on Twitter to promote their products or grow their blogs, like me. Small businesses, in particular, may feel the brunt of this decision as they use Twitter for promoting products and services, and limiting the number of tweets that people can read can negatively impact a business's ability to reach potential customers.
With fewer people able to see their tweets, businesses may struggle to attract new customers and generate revenue. That also applies to all types of non-profit organizations and not being able to raise awareness of different issues.
Bloggers rely on Twitter to publish content and engage with readers. By limiting the number of tweets that people can access, Twitter is essentially limiting our ability to grow our audience and increase website traffic. This can be especially detrimental for new bloggers who are still trying to establish themselves.
The limit also includes how many tweets people can send daily and locking accounts that exceed this limit. That affects basically everyone everyone active on this platform.
Twitter's decision to limit the number of tweets that unverified accounts can read can harm small businesses and bloggers. I hope that Twitter will reconsider this decision and find a way to balance the needs of its users with its own business objectives.
