Generational curses are the damaging behaviors and negative beliefs that are passed down through generations within a family. They can affect our lives on different levels, hold us back from our potential, and stunt our growth mentally and emotionally. Breaking generational curses may seem like an overwhelming and almost impossible task that requires grand actions, but it can be done with small steps.
One of the simplest methods I'm doing to break generational curses is to throw away things that don't work for me, instead of holding on to them.
Throwing away stuff that didn't serve me, like skin and hair care products that weren't working, or clothes that I no longer like, was so difficult for me because I was taught that things should be kept even when they're not benefiting me (just in case I need them later).
Breaking generational curses doesn't require drastic life changes because small actions can lead to significant shifts. Doing this simple step made me feel in control over my life.
Identifying negative behaviors, patterns or beliefs that we gained during our childhood and actively working towards replacing them with positive habits is very empowering.
It's not an overnight process to break generational cycles, as we're rewriting negative patterns that we learned for years and grew up thinking were normal.
