Overcoming Body Image Struggles: How I Learned to Love My Body

Body image is something that I struggled with since childhood. Growing up, I was called "too skinny" by family members and friends. Although it may seem to some people like a harmless comment, it impacted my self-image.

As my body changed during those teenage years, I gained a bit of weight, and I was met with pressure to diet and lose the extra kilograms. It reached the point I was skipping meals, desperate to lose weight and that affected my health negatively.

This constant pressure left me feeling flawed and disconnected from my body. This went on into adulthood, with my weight up and down, and being miserable to feel accepted.

I gradually learned to focus on my health and well-being instead of the number on the scale. I started exercising and doing yoga to feel strong and cultivate a positive relationship with myself. That's why I'm passionate about blogging about my favorite workouts and yoga sessions, it changed my connection with my body.

Body acceptance is a continuous process that requires effort and self-compassion. The only opinion that truly matters about my body is my own.

My body is mine to cherish and nurture, free from the judgments of others. I no longer allow the opinions of others to define my worth. Instead, I seek to embrace my body and appreciate the incredible journey it has taken me on.

Reminders if you're dealing with body image struggles:

-Your worth is not defined by your appearance. Your value as a person goes beyond physical attributes.

-Surround yourself with positive influences and supportive people who appreciate you for who you are. This can help boost your self-esteem and confidence.

-Focus on self-care and prioritize activities that make you feel good about yourself, both mentally and physically.

-Challenge negative thoughts and replace them with positive affirmations. Body image struggles are common, but with the right mindset and support, you can overcome them.
