Curly Hair Care 101: Supercharge Its Growth with these ingredients

Having curly hair means your hair needs extra love and care to stay healthy and grow longer. A couple of years ago I cut my hair super short and I instantly regretted it, and you can read more about it in this post.

Since I'm not professional, my hair was uneven, and when it grew longer I needed to cut it again and again to make it even, and it took me a year to be almost satisfied with it.

I was impatient so I started doing research for how to grow my hair longer and faster.

Curly hair needs more time and effort to grow longer, so I needed more measures and I always prefer solutions with natural ingredients. Here’s how I used  natural ingredients to grow my curly hair out longer and healthier (as fast as possible):

Rosemary Water:

Rosemary water is packed with antioxidants and vitamins that help nourish your scalp and hair follicles. It also helps to stimulate your scalp, which can help promote hair growth. To make rosemary water, simply steep some rosemary leaves in hot water for an hour or two, then strain the leaves and store the liquid in a glass bottle. You can then use the rosemary water as a rinse after shampooing or as a leave-in conditioner. You can find out more in this post.

Ginger Water

Ginger water is another great way to promote hair growth. Ginger is known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which can help to reduce inflammation in the scalp and promote healthy hair growth. To make ginger water, simply steep some fresh ginger in hot water for an hour or two, then strain the ginger and store the liquid in a glass bottle. You can then use the ginger water as a rinse after shampooing or as a leave-in conditioner.

Flaxseed Gel

Flaxseed gel is a great way to add moisture and shine to your hair. It is also known to help promote hair growth and is packed with essential fatty acids that are beneficial for your hair. One of the ways to make flaxseed gel is to simply soak some flaxseeds in water for 8-10 hours, then strain the flaxseeds and store the liquid in a glass bottle. You can then use the flaxseed gel as a leave-in conditioner or a styling product. You can find out more in this post.

Make sure you're not allergic to any of these ingredients and know that each hair reacts differently so be mindful of how your hair reacts. Be patient and notice what works for you.

Based on my own experience, incorporating rosemary water, ginger water, and flaxseed gel into your hair care routine can promote healthy hair growth.

Curly hair requires more care due to its unique structure. The shape of curly hair strands makes it more prone to dryness and frizz. The natural oils produced by the scalp have a harder time traveling down the hair shaft, resulting in less moisture and increased vulnerability to breakage. Also, the twists and turns of curly hair make it more vulnerable to tangling and knotting.
