Gentle Yoga Session for Panic Attack Relief

Yesterday I had a major panic attack and before it got a lot worse I encouraged myself to do some gentle yoga to control it. I opened YouTube and luckily I found that Yoga With Adriene posted a session for panic attacks and anxiety.

This yoga class was so useful, it helped me feel more calm by focusing on my breathing and feeling safe in my body.

Adriene does a wonderful job in this yoga practice, and I will return to it whenever I'm feeling anxious.

She describes the class "This practice is here to support you in times of nervous system imbalance and neurological distress. This trauma-informed session is gentle and intended to support those who may suffer from anxiety or panic disorder. It can also be practiced as preventative care or a calming yoga session to soften a busy mind and body. "

This yoga session made me more aware of my physical and emotional states, it also provided me with a sense of grounding.

Remember to recognize the symptoms of panic attacks and do what's suitable for you to avoid or manage them.

Panic attacks can occur randomly and without warning.

Symptoms of a panic attack include shortness of breath, chest pain, rapid heartbeat, shaking, sweating, and feeling of intense fear.

Yoga can be a valuable tool for managing and preventing panic attacks. But listen to your body and know what works best for you.

During panic attacks, it is important to have reminders that can help manage the symptoms:

-Focus on your breathing. Take slow, deep breaths to help calm your body and mind.

-Remind yourself that the panic attack is temporary and that you have successfully managed them in the past.

-Focus on your surroundings by naming objects or engaging your senses.
