Discovering the Power of Evening Yoga: A Reflection on the 30-Day Challenge

I did a daily evening yoga challenge during September, and in this post, I will share my experience with you. The evening yoga challenge was posted about two years ago but I found it last month when I was looking for a yoga session to help me sleep. It is titled "Evening Yoga Movement".

The challenge includes 30 yoga sessions, and each session is about 15 minutes long, Kassandra advises us not to use too much strength in the poses, as the purpose is to relax the body and prepare it for sleep.

You don't have to do the entire yoga challenge as you can pick any class that you want to do, but I found that doing the whole challenge was really useful in improving my sleep pattern as much as possible except for a couple of nights that were too stressful for me (it's okay! it happens).

My sleep during September was way better than in August.

Kassandra shares an affirmation in each yoga session, and that was something that made me look forward to doing the evening yoga challenge with her.

Some of the classes require yoga probs, but you can easily find alternatives like I did because I don't have any yoga probs at home.

My favorite poses from this yoga challenge were: the turtle pose, the deer pose, and the reclined shoelace pose.

I enjoyed the YIN yoga classes in this challenge, especially Day 2 and 6, I also loved the classes that targeted the hips on Days 9 and 12.

This yoga challenge was wonderful, I'm glad that I did it, as it helped me learn that soothing yoga sessions can be as beneficial as demanding yoga sessions.

The gentle nature of the yoga sessions helped me relax both physically and mentally.

Evening yoga allowed me to establish a better mind-body connection and become more attuned to my physical and mental state.

This yoga journey also helped me to wake up feeling more refreshed. Committing to the evening yoga challenge was basically a bedtime routine for me. It was the self-care routine that signaled to my body and mind that it was time to unwind and prepare for sleep.

Adding affirmations in the yoga sessions had a positive impact on my overall mindset.
