As a tradition on my blog, I'm starting the new year with 30-day yoga journey, and for 2024 I chose a wonderful challenge by Yoga With Bird. The challenge was posted last month, but I decided instead to follow it this month, it consists of 30 classes of morning yoga and it's designed to suit busy people with duration of sessions ranging from 5 to 15 minutes, so it's the perfect way to introduce yoga to your daily routine while not stressing not fitting it into your schedule.
Yoga With Bird is one of my absolute favorite yoga teachers online, she's so gentle and her practice is always tranquil but refreshing, I love how she guides the class with ease. She also advises us to modify or skip any pose if it's not in our capabilities.
10 Min Morning Yoga Full Body Stretch (DAY 1)
It's the first of January 2024, and I'm practicing this amazing first class of this journey at 8 am, it's only 10 minutes long but gets the job done by making you feel rejuvenated and ready to face the day and the new year with positivity. The low lunges with side stretches made the energy flow in my body, I also enjoyed the self-hug at the end of the class. It was the best start that gave me the motivation I needed.
12 Min Morning Yoga Stretch (DAY 2)
This gentle yoga class starts seated with much-needed neck stretches, which I enjoyed so much since I didn't sleep well last night. The self-massage is a very enjoyable part of this session to help you show some love to yourself, the seated foot stretches are the most difficult part so feel free to adjust this pose. If you're looking for a session to release tension and stress from your body after not having a good night rest, then I completely recommend this video.
10 Min Full Body Morning Yoga Stretch (DAY 3)
This type of relaxing yoga session is the best start to your day, I enjoyed doing this class so much, it focused on all the major muscle groups without demanding poses or transitions so it doesn't cause any unnecessary stress to the mind and body.
7 Min Morning Yoga Stretch to FEEL INCREDIBLE! (DAY 4)
The Yoga Teacher describes this class as "quick 7 minute yoga to your morning routine to help stretch and release the nights tension helping you to feel your best throughout the day ahead. Morning yoga is a great addition to any morning routine helping to improve focus, increase energy and physically feel incredible."
This class starts with a seated feet stretch, which is quite intense for me but I'm aware of its benefits including stimulating nerve endings, improving blood flow, and reducing fluid retention. My favorite pose in this yoga session is the Puppy pose, a gentle backbend stretching the spine, shoulders, and chest.
10 Min Morning Yoga Hip Stretch for Tension Relief (DAY 5)
This yoga session is perfect for anyone looking to release tension in their hips or lower back, it starts with a reclined butterfly pose and ends with shavasana.
The reclined butterfly pose helps to open up the hips, stretch the inner thighs, and improve flexibility. It also stimulates the abdominal organs and can help improve digestion.
The shavasana pose is typically performed at the end of a yoga practice to promote deep relaxation by allowing the body to release tension and stress and it also allows for the absorption of the benefits gained from the preceding yoga session.
7 Min Morning Yoga Flow & Stretch for Energy (DAY 6)
I enjoyed the slow flow at the start of this yoga class and found the gate pose very energizing.
The yoga teacher describes this class as "a faster paced flow and stretch that offers the body stamina, energy and focus for the present moment and day ahead," which is what the session delivered for me.
I recommend this quick yoga practice if you want a morning pick-me-up.
10 Min Morning Yoga Stretch (DAY 7)
This yoga class helped to release all the tension in my body without doing long or difficult yoga sessions and this is why I will return to this video as much as I can. I love the spinal wave, it made me feel feminine and empowered.
12 Min Morning Yoga Full Body Stretch (DAY8)
The last session of the first week of this challenge went smoothly with this full body stretch, all poses were low to the ground without any flow, which is what I needed because my body was asking for a gentle and slow yoga class.
If you're looking for a month long yoga challenge then I suggest this journey and you can also pick the classes that are suitable for your needs to do them individually.
